About Mariangela Campus 

Mariangela Campus is an Italian author, independent researcher, child and family advocate, contributor to Cagliari Live Magazine, and Founder and National  President of F.L.A.Ge. (Figli Liberi dall'Alienazione Genitoriale), an association dedicated to protecting children's relationships with both parents and raising awareness about parental alienation. As a former exchange student in the United States, she earned a U.S. high school diploma from Holly High School in Michigan, an experience that contributed to her international perspective on education, family relationships, and child advocacy.

Drawing on years of direct experience supporting families, she has devoted her work to promoting greater understanding of the challenges faced by children and parents affected by family conflict and relationship breakdown.

She is the author of Parental Alienation: Understanding, Recognizing, and Intervening, a book aimed at helping parents, families, and anyone seeking to better understand the dynamics and consequences of parental alienation.

Mariangela Campus is also the producer of the award-winning short film Black Sands, a project created to encourage reflection and public awareness on the importance of family relationships and children's emotional well-being.

Through her writing, advocacy, public engagement, and media contributions, she continues to support initiatives that promote children's rights, family connections, and informed public discussion on parental alienation.

Although not affiliated with a university or academic institution, Mariangela Campus has pursued independent training and continuing education in criminology, forensic psychology, child protection, trauma studies and investigative interviewing through international programs and specialized courses.

About the Short Film

Black Sands is an award-winning dramatic short film inspired by a true story. Produced by Mariangela Campus and directed by Isidoro Ventura. The film stars acclaimed Italian actress Cristina Moglia as Angela.

The story follows a mother who, after separating from her husband, faces an unimaginable tragedy: the gradual loss of her daughter's love and trust. As manipulation and conflict intensify, she finds herself fighting to preserve a bond that once seemed unbreakable.

Inspired by real events, Black Sands was created to raise awareness about parental alienation and its impact on children, parents and families. Through an emotionally powerful narrative, the film explores themes of loss, identity, resilience and the fundamental importance of preserving healthy parent-child relationships.

Entirely independently produced, the project combines artistic expression with social awareness, encouraging reflection on a phenomenon that affects families around the world while often remaining unseen and misunderstood.

F.L.A.Ge Children Free from Parental Alienation

F.L.A.Ge. (Children Free from Parental Alienation) is an Italian non-profit organization founded on May 15, 2014 by Mariangela Campus and a group of volunteers committed to protecting children's right to maintain meaningful relationships with both parents.

Since its foundation, the organization has worked to increase public awareness of parental alienation and its impact on children, families, and society. Through advocacy, education, public engagement, publications, and support initiatives, F.L.A.Ge. promotes the recognition of parental alienation as a serious form of emotional and psychological harm affecting children and parent-child relationships.

As outlined in its founding statute, the association supports the development of specialized child protection measures, including the establishment of dedicated regional guardians able to intervene promptly in cases involving parental alienation. The organization has also advocated for legislative reforms aimed at strengthening legal protections for children exposed to severe forms of emotional and psychological abuse resulting from parental alienation.

F.L.A.Ge. further promotes the creation of support and recovery centers designed to help rebuild damaged parent-child relationships and encourage family reconnection whenever possible and in the best interests of the child.

Operating throughout Italy, the association continues its mission through awareness campaigns, educational initiatives, publications, institutional dialogue, and public advocacy dedicated to safeguarding children's emotional well-being and family bonds.
